An LED wall uses power in proportion to its area and brightness. Two numbers matter: the average power while showing normal video, and the peak power when every LED is at full white.
Planning with ranges
As a rough guide, a typical wall averages a few hundred watts per square metre and peaks at two to three times that. Outdoor screens, which run much brighter, use more than indoor ones. Our configurator shows an indicative range for the size you pick.
These are planning figures, not guarantees. The datasheet for the exact product gives the real numbers.
Size the supply for peak, not average
Wiring, breakers and a generator should be sized for the peak figure with some margin, otherwise a bright white scene can trip the supply. Good installers also stagger the power-on of cabinets.
Ways to reduce running cost
Lower the brightness to suit the room, use dark-background content, and switch the screen off when nobody is watching. A screen that dims at night can cut energy use noticeably.
